We had been driving on snaking roads for miles through fog and light rain; after rounding a bend in Big Sur, we saw one lone surfer, wolf if you will, absolutely dwarfed by the pacific. The scale and proportions were absolutely staggering. It still makes me feel queasy in an awesome way.
