For over a decade, we have partnered with the greatest couples in all the land, documenting sea-side, garden-side, destination and estate weddings. Since 2008, when we started shooting weddings and celebrated our own, we’ve started a family and have continued to build a life together, all of which has deeply shaped our intention and understanding of the photos that we deliver.
That being said, our perspective is this:
01. Your wedding day experience is everything.
02. We are capturing and delivering photos with the perspective of them being viewed and held by your grandchildren and great grandchildren.
03. We’re capturing moments with your legacy in mind; not “likes”.
It would be easy for us to ramble on and on about how much we love marriage and believe in its goodness; or how dearly we believe in delivering images that remind you of the joy and love that brought you together in the first place because there will be bumps along the way and a gentle reminder in the form of a photograph can speak volumes and help you reset; but mainly we hope that you know how grateful we are for this life we have been blessed with and we would be absolutely honored to document the beginning of your next chapter together.

SARAH
(the nicest human you will ever meet)
In 2015 we were fortunate enough to meet Sarah - a beyond kind and compassionate, mega-creative and talented photographer. She is somehow an even more impressive person than she is an artist, though it's pretty close because her work clearly speaks for itself.
A recent bride simply wrote, “OH. MY. GOD. We are so in love!” after seeing the beautiful photos Sarah delivered.

And in 2018, it brought us great joy and honor to announce the newest member of our Paper Antler family: Maddy.
Maddy is the real deal. Aside from having a disarming presence, keen eye for detail and a natural eye for beauty, she’s also a world-traveler and touring musician. Originally hailing from the west coast, Maddy now calls the midwest home and we couldn’t be more honored to have her as a part of the Paper Antler fam.
It’s official. Paper Antler can now be in three places at once. The future is now.

"If you have seen any of Paper Antler's work, then you already know how incredibly talented they are. Their wedding photos look unlike any other. If you are looking for unique and breathtaking photos, they are an excellent choice. What you may not know from browsing their website, however, is how amazing, kind, funny, and sweet Jonny and Michelle both are.
I had known of their work for several years (and daydreamed of booking them the moment I got engaged), so they were a bit like celebrities to me when I met them at our rehearsal dinner. They made us all feel so comfortable with their warm smiles and their open hearts. We had so much fun with them!
After the wedding, several members of my family commented on how they just seemed to be wherever the moment was - they were so tuned in with all of the microevents happening. It's about 11AM and I'm still dusting the sleep off my eyes after staying up until 3AM going over all of our photos. And it's only going to start up again soon once I finish my cup of coffee! It's a good thing I don't have any patients today:)

Perms + Such
We take on a limited number of bookings a year so that our clients receive the best experience and photographs possible, and so that we continue loving photography for the next decade as much as we've loved the previous.
While we might cost a bit more than our Great Clips counterparts, trust us, the investment is worth it. Ask anyone with a bad perm.
Origin Story
After graduating from a liberal arts school with a degree in Philosophy/Photography (film!) and International Relations respectively, we saw an opportunity to do wedding photography differently. You see, on the weekends, I (Jonny) would assist and second shoot for photographers and was astounded how rare it was to find a photographer who was both skilled as a photographer and a nice person.
From those early moments, Michelle and I have been committed to doing our best damn work possible while also treating our clients with respect and upholding their experience to the utmost. It may sound basic but if you ask around, it’s sadly not always a given.
