Sarah + Cory - Somewhere West of the Mississippi
Sarah + Cory spent months planning an elegant, downtown wedding surrounded by hundreds of friends + family. As a result of COVID, they pivoted the week of and got married in a countryside chapel with a handful of immediate family as witnesses. Afterward, they paid a visit to the groom’s grandmother at a nursing home where she was wheeled up to the entryway window, oxygen in one hand and a phone in the other, so she could celebrate alongside the newlyweds. When I left, the couple was eating a home cooked dinner and video chatting with their wedding party. The amount of grace and perspective inspired by these two is remarkable; while their wedding is certainly a time capsule of this season marked by COVID, their palpable love for each other is the real lasting imprint.
