2020 - Year in Photos

We were in Arizona for a photoshoot when the world shut down. I’ll never forget catching nightly news fragments, as Michelle and I looked at each other with total disbelief and shock.

At various points throughout the early months of quarantine, from a work standpoint, I had my doubts about how the year was going to shape up with dozens of cancellations, postponements and down-sized bookings rushing in daily. But as a testament to our remarkable client base we photographed some of the most intimate and creative weddings to date, in backyards, homes and parks around the country. The moments that we witnessed and captured contained a different emotional weight than in any other year. People held spaces and each other in a more intimate way, and appreciated time together more deeply. Weddings served as a momentary oasis from the typical 2020-grind, but they were also a clear marker of how much the world had changed. I (Jonny) even acted as a witness at one wedding because I was the only “guest”/photographer. All of this confirmed our deep-held belief that the images we provide our clients are not only timeless but priceless as well, especially during such a time of uncertainty.

Recently, as we were leaving a hotel in Houston to shoot a wedding, I looked at Michelle and said, “What an awesome, crazy way for us to make a living.” We feel deeply grateful to have the work we do and what it allows for time with each other and family. So if you’re reading this, thank you. It’s because of you that we’re able to keep this truck going.

May 2021 bring a bit more brightness to you and yours. Hope you enjoy the below time capsule of what will forever be a memorable year.

Peace

J+M
